The Special Meeting of Council convened at 1:02 PM on November 6, 2017 in the Council Chamber.  Deputy Mayor Jack Heath presided.

            PROPOSED 2018 USER FEE, PERMIT AND FINE INCREASES (7.0)

 

            The following individuals addressed Council and expressed concerns regarding the Proposed 2018 User Fee, Permit and Fine Increases:

 

            1.         Bernie Wong, President, Markham District Baseball Association.

            2.         Lou-Anne Fradsham, Markham Women’s Slo Pitch.

            3.         Kent Green, Markham Soccer Club.

3.         REPORT NO. 44 - OF GENERAL COMMITTEE (November 6, 2017)

 

Andrea Tang, Senior Manager, Financial Planning delivered a PowerPoint presentation regarding the proposed 2018 user fee, permit and fine increases.

That Report of General Committee dated November 6, 2017 comprised of 1 item be received and adopted.

 

(1)        PROPOSED 2018 USER FEE, PERMIT AND FINE INCREASES (7.0)

            Presentation     Report

 

1)         That the presentation entitled “Proposed 2018 User Fee, Permit and Fine Increases,” be received; and,

 

2)         That the report dated November 6, 2017 entitled “Proposed 2018 User Fee, Permit and Fine Increases” be received; and,

 

3)         That the 2018 user fee, permit and fine increases and their respective effective dates as outlined on Appendix A be approved contingent on approval of Bill 148 by the Province of Ontario; and,

 

4)         That staff be directed to report back with potential options to further increase the Mortgage Administrative Fee; and,

 

5)         That staff report back regarding increases to fees and fines within infill development; and further,

 

6)         That Staff be authorized and directed to do all things necessary to give effect to this resolution.
