The public information meeting, dealing with the Town of Markham Draft Accessibility Plan, convened at 7.30 p.m.

PRESENTATIONS

Ms. C. Conrad, Town Solicitor, was in attendance and gave a brief presentation of the above Plan, and outlined the legislative background of the Ontarians with Disabilities Act. She stated that there were a number of potential and actual barriers to accessibility that had been identified and would be addressed within the Plan.

Ms. Conrad confirmed that the Town of Markham Advisory Committee on Accessibility had been presented with a copy of the Draft Accessibility Plan and that the Committee had provided feedback. Ms. Conrad agreed to present a report to a future Finance and Administrative Committee meeting which would address the comments raised by the Accessibility Committee.
