Short Term
·
The
cultural diversity of the Advisory Board will be examined. Town of Markham Council to take steps to
ensure that the Board will be more representative of the community and better
able to facilitate fundraising activity.

The
results from the examination of the collection and storage areas will enable
staff to act on some recommendations that are possible with current Museum
resources.
·
Some
special event and community program changes can be made immediately after
acceptance of the recommendations of the Events and Programs Planning
consultants.
·
Planning
for events directly related to public awareness about the new business plan
will be implemented immediately.
·
The
feasibility and long-range concepts in the plan will be used to initiate the
development of a long-term capital plan and fundraising campaign for the
Museum.
Medium Term
·
All
stakeholders will be aware of the plan and will be actively involved in its
support and promotion.
·
The
business plan will be used to produce a long-term capital plan for the Museum.
Long Term
Recommendations within the business plan will be carried out according to a time-line within the plan. The business plan will be supported and endorsed by Museum stakeholders, and it will be used as the basis for the development of a long-term capital plan.
With a sound business plan and financial support for capital projects, Markham Museum will be a relevant and vibrant part of the Markham community. The Museum collection will be stored in conditions that exceed provincial standards, and there may be a regional conservation centre on‑site. Museum exhibits and activity areas will be well presented, well maintained, interesting, fun and relevant. The Museum will offer programs and events that appeal to a wide variety of people and will be source of pride for the Town of Markham
