SUB-COMMITTEE of COUNCIL

(ITCC)

 

TERMS OF REFERENCE

 

1.   Purpose

 

A sub-committee of the Finance and Administrative Committee charged with realizing the maximum value from information technology (including citizen service effectiveness, operational productivity and management decision-making) to support the Town of Markham’s vision, mission, values and goals.  The IT Committee of Council (ITCC) will review and provide direction on all policies regarding the use of information technology.  The ITCC will also review the status of all strategic ITS initiatives, the selection of preferred technology and application suppliers, and opportunities to collaborate with other jurisdictions.

 

2.   Objectives

 

2.1.  Articulate the vision and provide directional guidance on the policies and long-term strategic plan for the Town with respect to information technology.

 

2.2.  Provide guidance to the CIO and the Information Technology Steering Committee concerning the Town’s information technology priorities and criteria for prioritization.

 

2.3.  Communicate to Council and others, information technology strategy, initiatives and status.

 

3.   Membership

 

·         Membership to be comprised of the following:

·         Regional Councillor Bill O’Donnell (Chair)

·         Regional Councillor Jim Jones

·         Councillor Stan Daurio

 

4.   Meetings

 

·         Meetings are to occur on a monthly basis.  Additional meetings can be called if required.

 

5.   Reporting

 

·         The minutes from ITCC will be presented and received at the Finance and Administration Committee.

 

·         Presentation to the Finance and Administration Committee will take place on a semi-annual basis or as required.
