ADDENDUM A
The purpose of
this document is to outline the policies and procedures within the Town of
· To establish the priorities for allocating the skate board park
· To establish contracts for skate board park permits
· To recover direct costs related to permits
Skate board park permit requests will be considered on their merits. In general, permits for a special event or community event will be limited to five days per season (May through September). It is intended that permits be limited to one day per month in May, June, July, August and September. However, it is possible that a permit will be issued for an event at the start of a month and at the end of a month.
· Permit request are one time, annual or infrequent events
· The event has predetermined opening and closing dates and times
· The event is four (4) hours or more in length
Permit rental fees will be levied for all commercially-operated events.
In the case where all profits derived are for the sole benefit of a registered charitable of “not for profit” groups, permit fees (excluding direct costs) may be waived by Council.
Criteria for Not for Profit
The event must
be operated by a registered local charity or registered “not for profit”
group. A copy of their registration and
a letter confirming the charity or not for profit group’s involvement must be
forwarded to the Town of
· All legislation, by-laws and regulations must be adhered to by the operator of the event.

All direct costs incurred by
the Town to support the event will be assessed by the Town of
· The event operator is required to provide evidence of all necessary licenses to operate the event.

The event operator must
maintain public liability insurance of not less than $5,000,000 naming the Town
of
·
Only those with a permit will
be allowed to stage an event at the skate board park.
· The event organizer is responsible for the clean-up of the skate board park at the conclusion of the event. If the Town incurs additional costs to clean up the site after the event, the organizer may be charged additional fees and future permits will be at risk.
· Refreshments shall not be provided to the public in glass containers.
· The event organizer agrees to follow Town recycling programs and requirements during the event.
· Alcohol is not to be provided or served at the skate board park.
· The event organizer is required to provide payment for direct fees a week before the event.
·
Upon successful completion of
the event, the organizer will be given priority to reserve the facility on the
same date and time the following year.
The organizer must confirm their desire to do so in writing to the Town
of
· All event operators will insure the public have access to washroom facilities. This is to be arranged through the Recreation Facility Coordinator at the Centennial Community Centre.
It is anticipated that from time to time the Town will have requests to use the skate park for product demonstrations, product promotions and/ or local store promotions. These type of events are not supported by this policy.
