BACKGROUND:

In May of 2004, Kevin Thistle, Vice President and General Manager of Angus Glen Golf Club, attended a Town of Markham community partnership focus group meeting and expressed interest in partnering with the Town of Markham. Kevin stated that he would contact us when he was ready to enter a partnership.

In January 2005, the Community Partnership Coordinator held a meeting with Kevin Thistle and presented him with a proposal listing the partnership opportunities with the Town of Markham.  During this meeting, Kevin stated that he would like to personally give back to the community by having a small plaque displayed on a wall in the children’s story nook corner which will list both of his children’s first names only. Kevin would like this partnership so that his children will feel like they have a special place to attend and this will be Kevin’s way of personally giving back to the Town of Markham. Kevin is not looking for exposure with this partnership.

The CEO of the Angus Glen Library and Kevin Thistle agreed that a small plaque could be hung on a wall of the small story nook corner on the lower level of the library.
