PURPOSE:

The purpose of the report is to confirm appointments to the Mayor’s Youth Task Force.

BACKGROUND:

The Mayor's Youth Task Force (MYTF) is a group of elementary and high school students from the Town of Markham who meet twice a month to plan events and discuss issues facing youth. The purpose of the MYTF is to provide local youth a voice by which they may give input and develop initiatives to enhance youth opportunities within the Town of Markham.

Please confirm the appointment of members of Council to the Mayor’s Youth Task Force:

Mayor Don Cousens Term expires November, 2006

Councillor Stan Daurio Term expires November, 2006

In addition, Greg Dycke, Community Resource Coordinator will be the Coordinator of the Task Force and Lori Wells, Programs Manager will act as staff liaison from the Recreation and Culture Services Department.

FINANCIAL CONSIDERATIONS:

No financial implications are to be considered in this report.
