The Meeting of the Unionville BIA was held on April 28, 2010 at 6:00p.m., in Unionville Pizza Co., 175 Main Street, Unionville. 

UBIA Chairman G. McCormick presided. Called to order at 6:18pm.

 

1.                   DISCLOSURE OF PECUNIARY INTEREST - none declared

 

2.                   MINUTES   Motion: That the meeting on March 31, 2010 be approved.

A.      Unionville Public Washrooms

Motion: That Councillor Hamilton contact TRCA to look at options for a washroom in the Bandstand/Playground site, as this is the preferred location of the UBIA.

Moved by S. Taylor Wood, seconded by S. Morris.                                                                             CARRIED

B.      Garbage/Recycling Bins

Motion: That Councillor Hamilton to look into new garbage/recycling bins from Town funding that has already been approved.

Moved by S. Taylor Wood, seconded by T. MacKinnon.                                                   CARRIED

REPORT 2010-1.4.28 - Chairman’s Report (April 28, 2010)

Unionville Shop & Dine Shuttle – starts June 1, 2010. Deadline to participate May 1st from those who responded with interest.

Paid Parking – The UBIA has a long standing position against paid parking on or around Main Street Unionville.

Pedestrian Friendly Boulevards – An initiative of the UBIA – demonstrated during Easter weekend how well this works for Main Street Unionville. Safer, more pedestrian and more friendly for visitors to Unionville.

Public Washrooms in Unionville – Similar to paid parking, the UBIA has a long standing position requesting permanent washrooms in the Bandstand/Playground area. Discussion ensued – please see motion.

Garbage – Thanks to Councillor Hamilton for getting bags in the bins. Discussion ensued about the need for new street furniture and the funding already approved for this project.

Upcoming events: Mother’s Day, Unionville Victoria Day, Unionville Shop + Dine Shuttle Launch, Unionville Village Festival.

Promotion: Wrapped bus great exposure. Promotional package ongoing.
