THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF

WHEREAS Section 122(7) of the
Highway Traffic Act provides for restricted loads on highways
During a reduced load period and provides
further that the Municipal Corporation having
jurisdiction over a highway may by by-law
designate the date on which a reduced load period
shall start or end and the highway
or portion thereof to which the designation applies;
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN
OF
1. That load restrictions
limiting loads to 5 tonnes per axle be implemented on all public highways
in the Town from March 1, 2011
to April 30, 2011 and extended up to May 31, 2011 at the
discretion of the Director of
Operations. Exceptions will be made for the streets listed in
Clause 2 and for vehicles
operated by or on behalf of the municipality, where the vehicles are
engaged in highway maintenance,
transportation of fire apparatus, transportation of waste,
public utility emergency vehicles
and school busses as stated in Sec. 122(4) of the Highway
Traffic
Act.

“B” - RURAL ROADS

BY-LAW NUMBER _________
To provide year-round load restriction
on
Town rural roads
WHEREAS Section 122(7) of the
Highway Traffic Act provides for restricted loads on highways
during a reduced load period and
provides further that the Municipal Corporation having jurisdiction
over a highway may by by-law
designate the date on which a reduced load period shall start or end
and the highway or portion
thereof to which the designation applies;
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN
OF
1. That year-round load
restriction limiting loads to 5 tonnes per axle be implemented on all Town’s
rural roads from March 1, 2011 to
February 28, 2012 with respect to the portion of any highway
designated or named in the following
table:
