Approval of Street Name Additions
to the Reserve List |

RECOMMENDATION:
That Development Services Committee approve
those street names proposed during the first and second quarters of 2003, to
date, for the street name reserve list, as noted on Appendix ‘A’ to the June 3,
2003 staff report.
PURPOSE:
This
report provides the Development Services Committee with a quarterly update of
the Street Name Reserve List indicating those names proposed during the first
and second quarters of 2003, to date, for approval.
BACKGROUND:
As
part of the Development Services Commission’s streamlining efforts, it was
recommended by staff that the Director of Planning be given authority for the
assignment of street names from the Town’s street name reserve list to draft
plans of subdivision. This authorization was given by Council, subject to staff
providing the Development Service Committee a quarterly updated street name
reserve list indicating newly proposed names, for approval.
OPTIONS/DISCUSSION:
A
revised street name reserve list is attached as Appendix ’A’ to this report for
the review and approval, by Development Services Committee, of acceptable
additions. It includes all previously approved street names that remain
available for use, along with all additional street names proposed during the
first two quarters of 2003.
FINANCIAL CONSIDERATIONS:
There
are no financial implications arising from this report.
BUSINESS UNITS CONSULTED AND AFFECTED:
The
added names have been approved for use by the Fire Department and Region of
York.
