Rudy Buczolits of the Remington Group and Maxine Morris of Morris and Company gave a presentation on the Remington proposal. Now that the central amenity feature has been determined, the surrounding retail and commercial sector is being prepared. Discussions included:

-         pedestrian-friendly interaction of the park and retail precinct

-         open space and retail lifestyle is viable, a destination attraction must be created

-         demonstrate a “sense of place” for Downtown Markham

-         Birchmount and Verclair intersections as an event/signature location

Architectural details and streetscapes were reviewed for various locations, including Markham Square, the Boulevard, Parkside Drive, West Valley Drive, the Rotunda, and Civic Mall. Discussions included parking issues, and the level of activity on Enterprise Drive. It was suggested that a volumetrics model would be useful.
