Attachment(s)
This report seeks Council’s approval to implement an all-way stop control on Acadia Avenue at the driveways of 80 Acadia Avenue and 7020 Warden Avenue to address ongoing safety concerns at the intersection.
Need
to address traffic right-of-way concerns
Traffic
Acadia Avenue is located in a commercial
area west of Warden Avenue and north of Steeles Avenue.
The private driveway servicing 7020 Warden Avenue is directly
aligned with eastbound traffic on Acadia Drive.
This gives a false impression to drivers that the east and west approaches
are considered a through street.
DISCUSSION:
To implement an all-way stop control at an intersection, the necessary warrants must be met as outlined by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation. The warrants consider the total vehicular volume and the volume distribution during the busiest one-hour period of the day.
