RECOMMENDATION:

1) That the staff report entitled “Street names for Phase 1 of draft plan of subdivision 19TM-070003 (Times Group Inc.), South side of Highway 7, east of Warden Avenue,” be received.

2) That the following street names be approved for this subdivision:

Rougeside Promenade

Leaside Drive

3) That Staff be authorized and directed to do all things necessary to give effect to this resolution.

PURPOSE:

The purpose of this report is to recommend approval of street names for Phase 1 of the Times Group plan of subdivision, on the south side of Highway 7, east of Warden Avenue.

COMMENT:

On May 19, 2010, draft plan of subdivision 19TM-070003 was approved by the Ontario Municipal Board.

Staff are currently processing a subdivision agreement for Phase 1 of this subdivision, comprising the development blocks on the east and west sides of future Birchmount Road

(see Figure 1).

Names need to be approved for the streets within Phase 1 before the plan can be finalized for registration.

The applicant is proposing the following street names (see Figure 1):

Street C -  Rougeside Promenade

Street F -  Leaside Drive

Street B - Birchmount Road*

* Birchmount Road is an extension to existing Birchmount Road to the south across

the Rouge River within the Remington subdivision. This name therefore

does not require Council approval.

The requested street names do not currently appear on the list of street names endorsed by Committee for delegated approval by staff, and are submitted for approval specific to this plan.
