Parking Prohibition - UPDATE |

RECOMMENDATION:
THAT Schedule 1 of Parking
By-law 336-88, be amended to include a “No Parking Prohibition” on the east
side of Meadowbrook Lane from Highway 7 East to the shared property line of Houses
23 and 25 Meadowbrook Lane;
AND THAT the attached by-law be approved;
AND THAT the Operations and Asset Management Department be directed to install the appropriate signs upon approval of the attached by-law.
PURPOSE:
To report back to the Transportation Committee on the requisite number of parking stalls on the Plaza at 4581 Highway 7 East, as per zoning requirements, and to recommend a “No Parking Prohibition” on the east side of Meadowbrook Lane (see Attachment 1).

DISCUSSION:
Zoning
Requirement and Application
According to the zoning requirement, the
requisite quantity of parking stalls for this plaza is 78 and the actual
quantity of parking stalls is 77. The difference between the requisite and
actual quantity is a shortfall of 1 parking stall.
Staff met the Plaza owner in February 2004
and the owner identified the minor shortfall. The owner indicated that they
will submit an application to increase the quantity of parking stalls by 8
through parking lot modifications. To date, the owner has not submitted an application
to amend the Site Plan Agreement to increase the number of parking stalls in
the plaza.

performed to simultaneously compare the availability of plaza parking stalls to

FINANCIAL CONSIDERATIONS:
The
cost of labour and materials to implement these measure are accounted for in
the 2004 budget for the Operations and Asset Management Department.
BUSINESS UNITS CONSULTED AND AFFECTED:
Subject to Council’s approval the Operations and Asset
Management Department will install the proper signage for the proposed No
Parking Prohibition on
