Potential Concerns

Concern

Response

NTC Merger with TSC

·       Maintain equal representation of all Wards

·       More efficient committee

·       2 committees would overlap

Town-wide prioritization of roads instead of Ward allocation

·          Deploy resources where needed most

·          Respond to top priorities in Town

No traffic calming projects in 2005

·          In replacement, commence enhanced education and enforcement this Fall

Speed Limit Criteria

  • < 50 km/h – no traffic calming
  • > 55 km/h – horizontal traffic calming  measures on priority routes

·          < 50 km/h is a reasonable operating speed

·          Priority routes are also generally residential collectors where speeds likely to be highest than local road

Special Constables

·          Not well received by MSSTF

·          TSC will pursue further

Priority Routes

·          Work with departments and agencies to identifying priority routes.

·          Horizontal Traffic Calming Measures  - Increased costs / budget impact
