1.         COMMITTEE OF WHOLE - MINUTES

RECOMMENDATION:

 

That the minutes of the Committee of the Whole meetings held on February 13, 2001, February 27, 2001 and March 6, 2001 be confirmed.

 

 

2.         COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS (16.24)

 

Committee of the Whole, at its meeting held on March 6, 2001 appointed interview committees for the following:

 

-Markham Race Relations Committee

-Markham Conservation Committee - Have received recommendation

-Frederick Horsman Varley Art Gallery

-Markham Museum

-Markham Theatre Board

-Committee of Adjustment

-Heritage Markham

-Markham Public Library Board

-Canada Day Committee

 

Councillor Daurio withdrew his request for appointment to the Heritage Markham Committee.

 

RECOMMENDATON:

 

That a Special Council meeting be held on Monday, April 2, 2001 to give consideration to all Committee appointments for the year 2001;

 

And That Councillor J. Virgilio be appointed as a Council representative on the Heritage Markham Committee.

 

 

 

3.         9^TH ANNUAL POLICE APPRECIATION
            NIGHT - DINNER (12.2.6)

 

RECOMMENDATION:

 

That the invitation from the Police Appreciation Night Committee to attend the Ninth Annual Police Appreciation Night at Le Parc on Thursday, April 26, 2001, be received;

 

And that approval be granted to purchase five tickets at a cost of $150.00 per ticket.

 

 

 

4.         CART-BASED COLLECTION PILOT PROJECT (5.1)

 

Mr. Stan Bertoia, Director of Environmental Services and Administration and Mr. Peter Veiga, Waste Management Program Coordinator, were in attendance to present an update on the cart-based collection pilot project.
