Meeting convened at 7:00 PM in the Council Chamber with Councillor
J. Webster in the Chair.

INITIATED ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT
TO RESTRICT THE USES AT
11248 AND 11264 KENNEDY ROAD
(MELVILLE UNITED CHURCH) BASED
ON NEW PROPERTY LINES
ESTABLISHED
THROUGH RECENT SEVERANCE.

Development Manager advised the subject of the Public Meeting this date was to
consider an application submitted by Ontario Realty Corporation for a Zoning
By-law Amendment to permit industrial and ancillary office uses at 2601 14th
Avenue (ZA 08 126293).
The Committee Clerk advised that 13 notices were mailed on January 28, 2009, and a Public
Meeting sign was posted on January 27,
2009. No written submissions
were received regarding this proposal.
Staff gave a presentation regarding the proposal, the location and
surrounding uses. There are no
outstanding issues.
There were no comments from the audience with respect to this
application.

1) That
the Development Services Commission report dated January 13, 2009, entitled
“Preliminary Report. Town initiated
Zoning By-law Amendment to restrict the uses at 11248 and 11264 Kennedy Road (Melville
United Church) based on new property lines established through a recent
severance (ZA 08 129865)” be received; and,
2) That
the Record of the Public Meeting held on February 17, 2009, with respect to the
proposed amendments to Zoning By-law 304-87 be received; and,
3) That
the application by the Town of Markham to amend Zoning By-law 304-87, as
amended, be approved; and further,
4) That
the proposed amendments to Zoning By-law 304-87 as amended, be enacted without
further notice.

of the Public Meeting this date is a Town initiated Zoning By-law Amendment to

2009. No written submissions
were received regarding this proposal.
Staff gave a presentation regarding the proposal, the location,
surrounding uses and next steps.
There were no comments from the audience with respect to this
application.
The Committee inquired of the traffic along 14th
Avenue.
Staff advised that the applicant has submitted a Traffic Study with the
application that is currently being reviewed however, do not anticipate any
issue.
Ms. Kate Cooper,
Bousfield Inc., addressed the Committee on behalf of Ontario Realty Corporation
advising that they have some interested tenants but, are waiting for the Zoning
amendment to move forward.
There was discussion regarding the Don Mills Creek and concern with storm
water run off. Staff advised that the
applicant is proposing their own storm water management pond on site that will
drain through a culvert across Highway 404, to German Mills Creek.
